In-Clinic Services

At Blackstrap Hill Veterinary Clinic our veterinarians and staff provide all regular in-clinic services plus comprehensive diagnostic services, extended treatments, including lameness and breeding treatments and medical and hospitalization services. We are able to provide treatment for colic, respiratory disease, neonatal care, wound care, and more.

We offer laboratory services at our clinic, which allows for immediate evaluation of a patient’s treatment needs. We offer the complete blood count (CBC) which is the most commonly performed basic hematology technique. A serum chemistry test or Equine General Health Profile, may be performed to find levels of chemicals produced by the body. We can check electrolyte levels and perform tests for Lymes Disease, thyroid problems and for newborn foals to make sure they have received the proper nutrition in the first hours of their life. We work with several Universities and specialized labs around the country to perform more extensive testing. Other on site diagnostics include digital ultrasound, endoscopy, and radiographs.

Surgical services at Blackstrap Hill are available for a variety of problems including umbilical hernia repair, severe lacerations, crypt orchid castrations, and lameness evaluations. In hospital services also include enteritis diagnosis and treatment, impaction treatment requiring IV fluids, neonatal medicine, wound care, and diagnostics.
